Description
Small Seeded Lamb’s Lettuce – Heirloom Seeds / Rare seeds
Sowing: July to October
Harvest: October to January
Lamb’s lettuce prefers humus-rich, well-drained soils, but it adapts well to clay soils. Not very demanding in manure, it is sown as a second crop at the end of August or September. It does not like excess heat, mulch superficially, it germinates when temperatures cool. Except until emergence, watering is unnecessary. Direct seeding, broadcast, not too dense on soil lightly packed on the surface, it is advisable to weigh down the seeds with the back of a rake, or with your feet. Tip: sow lamb’s lettuce on clean soil, as cleaning is not easy. Harvest: October to January Tip: at the end of cultivation, leave a few feet of lamb’s lettuce to produce their seeds so that they reseed themselves, they will reappear spontaneously the following season as soon as the coolness sets in.
