Description
Large Seeded Lamb’s Lettuce – Heirloom Seeds / Rare seeds
Sowing: July to October
Harvest: October to January
Lamb’s lettuce prefers humus-rich, well-drained soils, but it adapts well to clay soils. Not very demanding in manure, it is sown as a second crop at the end of August or September. It does not don’t like excess heat, mulch superficially, it germinates when the temperatures cool down. Except until emergence, watering is unnecessary. Direct sowing, broadcast, not too dense on light soil packed on the surface, it is advisable to seal the seeds with the back of a rake, or with the feet. Tip: sow lamb’s lettuce on clean soil, as cleaning is not easy. Harvest: October to January Tip: at the end of cultivation, leave a few feet of lamb’s lettuce to produce their seeds so that they reseed themselves, they will reappear spontaneously the following season as soon as the freshness is felt.
