Description
Reindeer Petit Gris Melon – Heirloom Seeds / Rare seeds
Sowing: March to May or end of May in the ground

Sowing: from April, sow 2 to 3 seeds per bucket, sunk 1-2 cm deep. in a mixture of 3/4 compost – 1/3 compost. Water in fine rain. Place the pots behind a well-lit window or in a greenhouse. The optimum temperature for germination is 20°/25° day and night. Keep moist until ‘when the first leaves appear, keep only the most beautiful melon plant per bucket. After the frosts, transplant the well-developed seedlings to their final place in sunny exposure, 80 cm apart in a mixture of garden soil and compost. Sowing in the ground: directly in place from April in the south. From mid-May in cooler areas, in holes of 40 cm deep in a decomposed manure-soil mixture. Cover with a tunnel at the start of cultivation. Prune the main stem for greater fruiting. Water at least once a week in summer, without wetting the leaves because the melon is sensitive to powdery mildew.
