Thin out when the plants have 2 true leaves, remove the weakest plants and keep a turnip every 25/30 cm.

Remember to mulch to keep the soil moist and space out weeding.

Soil maintenance: happy with some regular hoeing and weeding. Watering: in case of drought.

Harvest: from the end of summer and all winter.

Conservation: Resistant to extreme cold, it is best to leave them in the ground and to harvest them as needed, so the flesh will be of better quality. Kept out of the ground, the roots become woody. Before extreme cold, to prevent the soil from hardening under the effect of frost, you can mulch them or cover them with leaves. If you still prefer to harvest them, you can keep them in a box filled with sand.
