An old variety of bell pepper, originating from the Basque Country, green becoming red when ripe, its skin is very thin. It has an excellent flavor in salads or cooked, it lends itself well to canning. The sweet long pepper from the landes is an integral part of the traditional piperade recipe (as well as the Espelette pepper). Measuring 15 to 18 centimeters, early and productive. Highly prized by collectors for its sweet and fragrant taste.

Sowing: February to April
Harvest: August to November
Sowing in a bucket: Start your sowing in a small terrine from mid-February to mid -April (18/20° night and day) in seed compost, cover your seeds by 0.5 cm, pack and keep moist. Prick out your seedlings when the plants reach 4/5 cm, in pots, with potting soil 1/3 manure or compost, bury well until the first leaves. After the Saints-de-glace, when the frosts are no longer to be feared, and your plants will have reached 15/20 cm, plant your peppers by burying them in the ground, up to the first leaves, in a hole with manure, compost or a few nettle leaves if necessary. Space them 60 cm apart. Water abundantly the first days, then during the summer water regularly.
