Its leaves are wider than those of common parsley and its stems can reach 60 cm in height. Originally from southern Europe, it was cultivated by the Romans for its medicinal properties.

Very rich in vitamins, it must be present in your garden all year round. It freezes very well.

Sowing: March to mid-May and mid-July to September

Patience…the seeds can take 3 weeks to 1 month to sprout!

Soak the seeds for 24 hours in water before sowing them. Sow in a bucket filled with seed compost in pockets of 4 to 5 seeds, optimal temperature 12 to 15°, when the plants are 10-12 cm tall, plant them in their final place.

You can also sow them directly in place from March to May. Draw furrows 1 cm deep. Spread the seeds evenly and cover with very little soil, tamp down with the back of the rake. Water with a fine rain.

Keep the soil moist until the first leaves appear.

Maintenance: keep the soil fresh by hoeing. Water only when necessary. Harvest as needed.

Friendly plants: tomatoes. Keep away from salads.
